It was December 2009, I has just turned 21, I did what most all twenty-something year olds do, and threw a nice “little” get-together at my house with some of my friends. A friend I used to work with, and hadn’t seen in quite a while, decided to travel down from the Temecula area to join in on the festivities. He asked if he could bring a friend along, and of course I said yes. The more the merrier, right? In they walked, my friend and this somewhat shy guy, his friend, who took a seat across the room. The night went on and people started to leave. Before you knew it, it was just he, I and our mutual friend. Our friend, was tired, yeah “tired”, and quickly fell asleep on the sofa. Jon and I immediately struck up a conversation as if we had known each other our whole lives. There were no awkward silences, no uncomfortable situations, just two people sitting there, that seemed destined to meet each other. As the night went on, we exchanged numbers, well… I quickly gave him mine when he said we should hang out again. After about an hour they too left, and the waiting game began. Luckily I didn’t have to wait too long, I tend to be impatient. Jon texted me the next day, and just as quickly as that progressed so did rest of our relationship.

After about a month, we officially became a couple, we even made it “Facebook Official,” that’s huge you know? The next month, we told each other we loved each other for the first time. I could go on and on about all the important milestones in our lives, but that would just take too much time. Bottom line, we were meant to be, we are meant to be, and so here we are, almost ten years later and still going.

We are so blessed, we really are, but to say that life has always been sunshine and roses, would be untruthful. Life has thrown us our share of curve balls, hard situations, trials and tribulations, but together we can get through anything. This blog is dedicated to our journey, you are welcome to tag along.
