Travel: Vegas Baby!

Vegas has to be one of our favorite destinations, we literally travel there at least twice a year.  We love it so much we even consider it our second home and somewhere we could see ourselves settling at some point in time.  This time in particular though, I came for work.  Jon joined me on the tail end of my work engagement and we extended our stay a few days to get in some fun.

Instead of my normal day by day format that I usually follow for our travel blogs, I am going to highlight some of our favorite things to do in Vegas.  We go enough that I consider ourselves pros.  Take advantage of our list, we have found the go to spots and weeded out the duds!

Food and Drinks:

  • Sushi House Goyemon off the strip (best AYCE sushi)
  • Fat Tuesday (several locations on the strip)
  • Steak and Shake at South Point Hotel and Casino
  • Secret Pizza at the Cosmopolitan

Things to Do:

One of our favorite things to do is look at houses, but if that is not your thing here are a couple more ideas!

  • Bellagio conservatory and fountain show (free)
  • Mirage Volcano (free)
  • Walk the strip (free)
  • Canals at the Venetian
  • Check out Downtown Las Vegas (free)
  • Gamble a bit
  • Paris Eiffel Tower – fun fact: this is where we got engaged
  • Hang out at Gilley’s at Treasure Island (free)
  • Check out the streets of New York at New York, New York (free)
  • Walk the Linq Promenade (free)
  • Ride the Linq ferris wheel

Places to Stay:

  • Planet Hollywood
    • Newly remolded, center strip and almost always upgrade your room if you ask and tip
  • Treasure Island
    • North strip but still conveniently located and oh my gosh, you cannot beat the view of the strip from the strip view rooms
  • Venetian / Palazzo
    • Every room is a suite, free parking and plenty of options for food, drinks and fun in the resort itself
  • Harrah’s
    • Good budget hotel, good location, nicely remodeled rooms
  • Aria
    • Top of the line hotel, good location, many amenities

Another great tip is to check out to find the best deals on hotel rooms.  Book directly with the hotel to get the best deals and added bonuses!

These are just a few of our many favorites!  We will be sure to update the list as we find more favorites along the way.
