Infertility: IUI Treatment One vs Two

I thought it would be interesting to compare the two IUI cycles we have had to date as there were quite a few differences.  Here it goes…

  • Weight
    • 36 pounds heavier than current weight
    • 36 pounds lighter than previous weight
  • Menstrual Cycle
    • IUI One: Brought on by Provera
    • IUI Two: Came naturally
  • Clomid (100mg both cycles)
    • IUI One: Days 3 – 7 in the evening
    • IUI Two: Days 5 – 9 in the morning
  • Ultrasounds
    • IUI One: 1 Baseline & 2 Monitoring
    • IUI Two: 1 Baseline & 1 Monitoring
  • Follicles During Monitoring Ultrasound 1
    • IUI One: 14mm on the right
    • IUI Two: 14mm on the left
  • Tubes
    • IUI One: Undertermined
    • IUI Two: Clear
  • Trigger Shot
    • IUI One: Administered by the nurse about 17 hours prior to insemination
    • IUI Two: Administered by Jon 36 hours prior to insemination
  • Sperm Count
    • IUI One: 60 – 70 Million
    • IUI Two: 40 – 50 Million
  • Insemination
    • IUI One: High stress; Jon injected the semen sample
    • IUI Two: Low Stress; NP injected the semen sample
  • Intercourse
    • IUI One: Very regimented
    • IUI Two: Not regimented except for after the insemination
  • Progesterone Suppositories:
    • IUI One: (2) 100mg suppositories for 13 days starting 2 days after our IUI
    • IUI Two: (2) 100mg suppositories for 8 days, then (1) 200mg suppository for 5                    days starting 2 days after our IUI
  • Progesterone Test:
    • IUI One: 8.6
    • IUI Two: 22.2
  • Tested Early
    • IUI One: Yes
    • IUI Two: Yes
  • Results
    • IUI One: Negative
    • IUI Two: Negative
  • Cost
